Steve Mehler Videographer
Steve Mehler has been a videographer/editor/producer for nearly 25 years, serving communities all over the country. His preoccupation with film/video as a medium started when he was 10. Finding some old forgotten super 8mm movie equipment his dad stuffed into a closet, he realized the excitement of telling visual stories through a lens. Film gave way to video. 25 years and a Bachelors Degree later, he is still recording life. “Professionally, three huge achievements were performing as an Assistant-Editor for a feature film which I got to watch on the silver screen; for winning national awards for video production; and, in 2008, my work was a key in aiding a talented but over-looked high school athlete in attaining a 4-year scholarship to UC Berkeley.”
For the last 18 years, he has also moon-lighted in the technical support industry trouble-shooting issues in hardware and software for corporate America. Steve is the proud father of two boys who have proven to be better students and athletes than he was. His youngest son was bar mitzvah-ed December of 2009 and, like with his older son, it was one of greatest joys of his life. He is married to his high-school sweetheart of nearly 24 years and she is the only reason he has the good sense of keeping somewhat-legible business/tax records. When he is not shooting or editing projects, he is playing with his dogs, trying not to get injured as a weekend warrior on a tennis/basketball court, catching a football, reading, tinkering with computers or listening to music that does not display an explicit language warning. One day, he will return to an early love from his teens, flying and maybe obtain a pilot’s license.
